Clara's Dilemma
Early in April Clara received the Wedding invitation she had hoped for. The engagement had been a long one and Clara was pleased that her granddaughter Susan had taken her time and was now prepared to make it official. Susan held a special place in Clara's life and heart. Clara had watched her grow up, graduate and get her first job. Now she would marry, and unfortunately for Clara, Susan and her husband would also be moving to the West Coast to pursue their careers. A conversation with Susan's mother gave Clara some suggestions for a wedding gift. The couple needed a microwave, a VCR, and a camera, but none of these filled Clara's wish to give Susan something memorable. Clara wanted a gift that would convey her approval and confidence in Susan's decision. Something that would remind Susan of the deep affection they had for each other. This was her dilemma. To buy something on their list or a gift that would be a bond between Clara and Susan & her new husband. It is obvious that Clara ordered a bench from us and later told us this story and had another bench sent to her first great-grandchild.
Pam's Peace of Mind
Pam was single again. Her son had moved into his own apartment, her job of 29 years had come to an end. Now it was just Pam, and it was time to take a new path. In her new life changes included downsizing her living space, and becoming more introspective. She found that she enjoyed meditation, and wished to create a small sacred space in her home. Pam saw our "Memory Bench" as a means of not only marking the space but of maintaining its focus without being too obvious. On her bench she had these four words carved. Love, Hope, Peace and Joy
A Message for Millie
Millie was an octogenarian who had lived in the same house since 1949. Hers was the first house to be built on the street. She knew the history of the area, had watched the neighborhood evolve and grow, and neighbors come and go. Millie's property was large and becoming to big for her to maintain on her own. She reluctantly decided to sell her home of fifty years and move to a retirement community a few minuets away. Millie would be missed on this street. The neighbors wanted to mark both the move to the new house and the years spent in the old neighborhood. They chose a bench as a housewarming gift. They had it carved with her old street address. A memory to treasure in her senior years in her new home
The Boss vs. The Mom
The staff of Warner Widgets got together and ordered a bench for the owner to mark the company's 40th anniversary. Two sides were carved "Warner Widget" and "Since 1960". A few weeks after receiving the bench the owner's mother came into the office and decided that since her husband had started the business, the bench should be hers, and promptly took it home. This story came to light when Mr. Warner ordered another identical bench for himself.
The Romantic Guy
It was an unusual order to be sure. Ron wanted a bench carved for his wife on their first anniversary. He asked to have four seemingly unconnected words carved around the bench. They were "IBM, C. Dion, Quebec City and Britain". We asked if he would mind explaining why he wanted these words. He replied that he met his wife when they both worked for IBM, their first date was to see Celine Dion in concert, he proposed in Quebec City and they spent their honeymoon in Britain. For him, it took very little to say it all.

Dear Mike: I am the proud and lucky recipient of the lovely leather covered Footstool that you donated to Conestoga College for their United Way campaign! I can't begin to tell you how thrilled I am...I literally squealed when I opend the box and found this gorgeous stool inside! It will be well used and loved in our home for many years to come. Thank you for 1) caring for United Way and donating the stool 2) having such skill and talent to create such a quality piece of furniture.

Hello: I ordered a Memory Bench for a gift to our daughter for her graduation. I must say I am most impressed with your customer service. On each of the 3 occasions I phoned I was able to talk to a person and got the help I was looking for. I also received a call to tell me what day the bench would be delivered. The gift was promised within 2 weeks and arrived exactly 2 weeks after ordering. Our daughter is so happy with her gift and we will likely place an order again. Thank you so much, Anne ......
Hi there: I left a message on your voicemail a short time ago.... I have been thinking and thinking of a wedding gift for my best friend. I want to give her something that she will cherish and remember that it was a gift from me when she looks at it. I couldn't think of the right gift. Then it came to me this morning,a memory bench! My parent's received one as a gift 27 years ago and it's been given to other relatives over the years as well, so I don't know why I didn't think of it until now. My Mom bought one from you several year's ago for a cousin's wedding. I have another wedding later this fall. Thank you Jennifer
Hello: We have ordered several pieces from you and have been very pleased! David's father from Campbellville, Ontario has also ordered several pieces and your work is second to none. We are wanting to do something for our boys and as I was looking through your web site I wondered if the rustic benches were appropriate to inscribe their name/birthdate. I know it was mentioned on your web page that they are often used for engagement presents but have you ever had them ordered for special occasions such as births? The rustic bench appeals to us particularly because they are cute and we think the boys would enjoy them for years to come. I'll look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Kathy
